Thane’s Madhuri Patkar nominated for Arjuna Award
International table tennis player Madhurika Patkar from Thane will be honoured with the Arjuna award on August 29. Madhurika was a part of Indian trio who defeated Singapore in the 2018 Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast and won a Gold medal for India. She had also won two gold medals at the 2019 South Asian Championships in Nepal. She has ranked 16th in the World Olympic team this year. Madhurika has represented India for the senior world title eight times in total. At the state level, she has won the table tennis championship nine times. Madhurika has previously been honored with Shivchhatrapati Award, Thane Krida Bhushan, Thane Gaurav Award and Rotary International Excellence Award. Madhurika is currently working with ONGC.
