Though the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) claims that it is on the verge of becoming a smart city, however it has miserably failed to provide pothole free roads to its citizens, alleges the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The MNS expressed their anguish through a video which asks Smart city or Pothole city? This video is currently trending on social media.

MNS’s Swapnil Mahindrakar has alleged that Thane, which is popularly known as city of lakes will soon lose its identity and will be known as city of potholes. He has created a video which talks about the pathetic state of roads. These bad roads have had an adverse effect on the day-to-day lives of Thanekars. He further adds that the TMC’s claim of becoming a smart city is false. If they don’t rise up now then Thane will soon become infamous as the city of potholes.

The video appeals to the civic body to start working towards making the roads better, which will ultimately help the city to become smart.
