Doctor Loses ₹68,000 in PAN Card Scam.
A 62-year-old doctor from Thane lost ₹68,000 while trying to update her PAN card online. She was tricked by a fake website that asked her to download a remote access app.
Later, a fraudster called her, pretending to help. He guided her into making multiple small transactions. Only after money was deducted did she realise it was a scam.
She filed a complaint at Wagle Estate Police Station. The police say the fraudster used fake portals and remote apps to steal money.
Citizens are urged to use only government-approved websites and never share banking details or download unknown apps.
This case is a reminder that even educated individuals can fall for digital scams.
