Desi or Foreign, Liquor to Get Costlier in Maharashtra.
Price Hike After Cabinet Decision; ₹14,000 Crore Revenue Expected
The Maharashtra Cabinet has decided to increase liquor prices by raising production fees. This will affect both local and foreign liquor. Due to the hike, a 180ml quarter will now cost ₹80 to ₹360. Desi liquor will cost ₹80, Maharashtra-made liquor ₹148, Indian-made foreign liquor ₹205, and premium foreign liquor ₹360. The government expects an additional ₹14,000 crore in revenue. The price change will impact hotels, bars, and retail shops. The new rates will be implemented soon in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, and others.
