Delay the unrealistic electricity bill payment to Torrent Power: MLC Niranjan Davkhare
Despite the state government asking Torrent Power Company to issue electricity bills as per the meter readings, the company has charged unrealistic electricity bill amounts ranging between Rs. 2000 and Rs. 10,000 over the last three months when there was lockdown. In wake of this, BJP MLC (Konkan constituency) Niranjan Davkhare has demanded to the state Energy Minister Nitin Raut to delay the payment of these electricity bills generated over the last three months. Prior to reaching out to the state minister, complaints were raised with Torrent, however there was no response from the company’s side. Within the municipal limits of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), electricity to Kalwa, Mumbra, and Shil is provided by Torrent Power Company.
