Contractor Fined ₹5 Lakh for Mandli Lake Accident.

A contractor has been fined ₹5 lakh after an accident at Mandli Lake in Bhiwandi West. The mishap occurred during renovation work on the lake, and Municipal Commissioner Radhabinod Sharma ordered the penalty.

The lake, developed in 1992, has been in use since 1994. On May 14, 2025, an accident injured a worker. Investigations found negligence in safety measures.

The contractor failed to secure the site, prompting the fine. The municipal commissioner warned that strict action will be taken against future negligence. A public notice has been issued by city authorities.
