11 People Booked Under Child Marriage and Human Trafficking Laws
In Pilsunde village, Bhiwandi, a minor tribal girl was being married off in exchange for just ₹1.20 lakh. Due to timely action by Shramajeevi Sanghatana activists, the deal was stopped. The police registered a case against 11 people under child marriage and anti-human trafficking laws. The girl was rescued while being taken for marriage. Local police, along with social workers, swiftly acted on the tip-off. The accused include the groom, his relatives, and middlemen.
