1450 Kg Beef Seized in Ambernath.
Police file 13 cases; 7 people arrested.
Police seized 1450 kg of beef from several meat shops in the Ulhasnagar area of Ambernath. Based on a tip-off, Ambernath police raided the area and filed 13 cases, arresting 7 people. Selling beef is banned in Maharashtra. The beef was being illegally sold in shops and transported by vehicles. The meat was sent for veterinary examination. Police have also taken action under the Animal Preservation Act. Authorities are continuing their investigation and plan strict action against open beef trading in the region.
