1000 Plus potholes repaired in Thane
As the rain has mellowed down significantly, TMC’s work of filling the pits in the city has gained momentum. So far, 1224 pits have been filled in Thane city and the remaining 156 pits will be filled on war footing, said the administration.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, who came to Thane to inspect corona situation, also directed the civic authorities to repair the potholes on the road when the city witnesses dry spells. Mayor Naresh Mhaske also took the administration to task on this issue. After the BJP and Congress agitated over the issue, the MNS released an album of 500 pits, which heated up the political atmosphere in Thane.
Finally, after the directives of the Guardian Minister, the potholes at Teen Hat Naka, Nitin Company to Louiswadi Seva Road, Jambli Naka, Emco Company, Majivada Naka, Teen Hat Flyover Bridge, Kashish Park were repaired.
City Engineer Ravindra Khadtale himself is inspecting the road. Now with the onset of rains, asphalting has started and the work has been started from Teen Hatnaka area. The administration has stated that asphalting will be done in other places as well.
Civic chief Dr Vipin Sharma had directed that action will be taken against the contractors and officials concerned if potholes on the roads are not filled.
